Kanye West has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor battery and attempted grand theft in a case filed over a scuffle with a celebrity photographer earlier this year. Attorney Blair Berk entered the plea on the rapper's behalf Thursday in a Los Angeles court.  West was charged with two misdemeanors in September over a July altercation with paparazzo Daniel Ramos at Los Angeles International Airport.

Prosecutors declined to file felony charges against West, but decided to pursue the misdemeanors.
West, who has a daughter North with his fiance Kim Kardashian, faces up to a year in jail if convicted of both charges or a $1,000 fine.
Ramos claims West punched him in an unprovoked attack and wrestled his camera to the ground on July 19.
West's case is due back in court on Jan. 23.
Meanwhile, the rapper is gearing up to resume his Yeezus tour after his team found a replacement for the giant screen broken in a road accident last month.
It is scheduled to kick off again on November 16 in Philadelphia.
The 36-year-old cancelled The Yeezus Tour shows in Vancouver, Denver, Columbus, Ohio, Minneapolis and St. Louis after 'routing problems' meant they could now be rescheduled.
However performances in his hometown of Chicago, as well as Toronto and Detroit, have been postponed and will take place at a later date.
The tour is Kanye's first solo excursion in five years, and has been beset by problems since it started in Seattle on October 19.
The first snag was when his management postponed the second date, when was slated to take place in Vancouver, Canada.
However it seems karma was in play as the truck that was on the way to the rescheduled concert on October 30 was in an accident.
The vehicle was carrying a video truss and a 60-foot circular LED screen and the smash, left both damaged.
